Freedom Fighters

The Team

Founder

I have been working in the Administrative Management field for 20+ years with the Federal Government. I have a good work ethic and am a dedicated, loyal worker. I am diplomatic, have exceptional problem solving skills, including research and writing skills. In October 2015, I switched careers and went into the Insurance field. I obtained my P&C Broker license in March 2017. By doing this, it allowed me to work to pay the bills, and allow me the time to fulfill my passion of helping those who can’t help themselves while incarcerated.

It has been my life long dream to assist with Clemency, Criminal Justice Reform (CJR) and the list goes on.  Most important to me is helping those deserving of getting that second chance, because they can't do it from prison alone.  They need our help, and it is my calling, my labor of love if you will.

Paralegal

I have an array of people who volunteer their time to assist me.  I will add their names and photos here soon

Assistant Document Handler

Shari helps by compiling all documents sent to our office for inclusion into Clemency Petitions and/or Motions.  She doesn't like her picture being taken, and opted for the document photo that was shown.  Shari is a strong proponent of Freedom Fighters, what we do, and what we stand for.

NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Freedom Fighters

We write Suppression Motions, 28 U.S.C. 2255 Petitions, Direct Appeals and a host of other court related motions.  We also have two separate certified paralegals that work for Freedom Fighters.
We have been successful in many cases and that is because we actually care about our clients.  People in this line of business "say" that, but that is all.  We actually mean it!

Below are just a few cases that we have been successful in.

1/13/20 - William Clyde Brown The government conceded that an evidentiary hearing was needed in regard to his 28 U.S.C. 2255 motion. Freedom Fighters prepared his 2255, and argued that his attorney performed deficiently. See US v. William Clyde Brown, 18-CR-0033-LLM, Dkt #36 Filed 1/13/20.

6/19/19-Conrado Cantu was granted an immediate release from FMC Lexington. Mr. Cantu contacted us seeking help with his compassionate/ elderly offender issues. We went to work on his case, and now he is being reunited with his family. Cantu as many people know him was and is a true believer in God. Freedom Fighters was simply the tool that God used to help secure his second chance to reclaim his life. We want good things for everyone that deserves the same second chance as Mr. Cantu.

Felix Morales (AKA Flex, FCI Ray Brook) (District Court of Massachusetts) Felix's family paid two separate attorneys who could not get him relief. When Freedom Fighters did his work, we were able to secure a 7 year reduction in his sentence. The Judge in this case wrote a scalding opinion against the Government.

Wang Jia Fu (S.D.N.Y.) Freedom Fighters wrote and prepared the 28 USC 2255 motion for Mr. Fu. Mr. Fu was granted a 200 month reduction of sentence and was immediately released from prison.

Marcus Sykes (D.C. Illinois) Mr. Sykes had a lot of litigation in his case. The case went to the Supreme Court and he was not granted any relief. We later took the case and argued that Mr. Sykes was not a career offender. Based on the motions that Freedom Fighters prepared, we were able to get Mr. Sykes immediately released from prison.

Jason Belcher (4th Cir. Court Of Appeals) We prepared an appeal brief for Mr. Belcher that he submitted pro-se. The Court Of Appeals granted that appeal and Mr. Belcher's sentence was reduced by 28 months.

Ramon Cruz (S.D.N.Y. 2018) In the summer of 2018, we wrote the application and memorandum of law for Ramon Cruz. Mr. Cruz had an Ineffective Assistance of Counsel argument related to a plea offer. We were able to secure an evidentiary hearing for Mr. Cruz, and are currently waiting for a decision in that case.

Eric Rivera (NUNC PRO TUNC) Mr. Rivera needed help with a time credit issue, and we prepared all of the administrative remedy documents for him. He was credited with 9 months on his sentence.

Khem Un (4th Cir. 2017) In Mr. Un's case we also prepared a brief to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals asking for permission to file a second or successive 28 USC 2255 petition. The Court Of Appeals agreed with our argument and granted that permission.

Tyrone Grimes (Clemency Petition) In Mr. Grimes case we wrote Mr. Grimes clemency petition, and advocated for clemency on his behalf, after the Clemency Project Attorneys told him that they could not help him. In January 2017, President Obama granted Mr. Grimes clemency petition and commuted his sentence.

Jesse Lee Stark (NUNC PRO TUNC) In 2018 we prepared all of the administrative documents for Mr. Stark requesting time credit. In January 2019, we were successful in that case, and Mr. Stark was awarded 24 months time credit.

This is just a sample of the cases that we have won at Freedom Fighters for our clients. Our goal is to make sure that our clients have the best possible chance at getting a second chance to reclaim their lives. Sadly, a lot of attorneys don't care, and in some cases they don't know the law. We make it our business to know the law and we do care about what happens to the people that we represent.
